- Upon completion of safety courses and orientation, you must email 1) the course certificates, 2) completed Zoology Lab and Field Safety Course Requirements form, and 3) your student/staff card to: the Zoology key liaison officer ubczool-g- keys@mail.ubc.ca - and/or to Patrick tamkee@zoology.ubc.ca for Aquatic Access the course certificates.
Once the Zoology key liaison officer has received all of the above, your request for keys and key card access will be processed.

Training
A number of courses are mandatory to meet WorkSafeBC and UBC requirements. For all UBC personnel, you are required to complete the mandatory health and safety training as well as the mandatory privacy & information security training. Supervisors are also required to complete the mandatory training for all supervisors.

In addition to completing the “Autoclave Training” course offered through Safety and Risk Management at: https://wpl.ubc.ca/, the Department of Zoology requires members that are planning on using autoclaves for their work, or research, to undergo in-department autoclave safety training.
Please contact Joanne Denny at denny@zoology.ubc.ca to arrange safety training prior to using autoclaves.
