On April 24th 2023, there will be a full day academic program, a plenary talk by Dr. Karen Warkentin (Boston University) - lunch, coffee breaks, fun social activities, capped off by a fancy graduate student appreciation buffet dinner with an Awards reception at Sage bistro on April 25th, 2023.
All individuals in a lab supported by a Zoology faculty member are welcome to participate, even if those individuals are technically in a different department (e.g., Neuroscience). Unfortunately, because this is an strictly academic event, UBC payment rules preclude any guests.
In order to make this event possible, there will be a registration fee per attendee (to be covered by PIs, see below); this is the minimum amount needed to cover event expenses beyond the endowment. Since this is an academic symposium, these funds can be reimbursed by grant funds (as opposed to a personal expense).
This symposium is organized by ZGSA members and graduate student representatives to showcase work by Zoology graduate students. Please complete your registration by Monday April 10th at 5pm.
